Up early this morning for a walk along the beachfront park. Lots of huge rocks some covered by strangler fig trees. Beautiful bouganvillea and frangipani - they love this climate. Forgot to take my camera so will take some pix tomorrow.
The big news this morning is the total eclipse which was viewed ideally from Cairns. (We had a quarter eclipse here in Bowen). People flocked to Cairns from all over the world to see it.
The afternoon was spent on the beach - the water calm & blue - beautiful. The seaguls flocked around - I think they were looking for Robert The Complicado aka Bob Rudge who attempted to hand-feed them when he was here at Horseshoe Bay while we waited for the kettle to boil for our cup of tea.
A young Pommy couple have moved in next to us. She is from Shropshire & he is from Berkshire. They are here on a working visa but hope to stay on. She is trying to obtain a student visa and train as a nurse.
